October

We have the Disney fox version of Robin Hood, a fire chief, a flower in her pot, and the Disney fox version of Maid Marian.

Pumpkin Patch

Our annual hayride in the sunshine...Greger was not so sure about riding a truck without being in a carseat.

This farm has a very pretty field of marigolds, but Gus is probably noticing one of the scarecrows.

This thing shot tiny pumpkins at a target. 'Merica.

We went with our church's homeschool group this year so we got an actual tour!

Pumpkin Carving

This was our first year carving pumpkins. The kids had been hearing about it and repeatedly asking to make our own jack-o-lanterns this year. Once they got into the work of it, they were a bit put off.

The littlest pumpkin fell asleep.

After the frustration of carving had passed, both Gus and Lu commented on what a great day it was and how they love Halloween.

Other Stuff

Greger got his second set of stitches in four months. He was just walking through the living room--no toys to trip on, he wasn't running--fell and split his lip on our side table.

Rock climbing after our family pictures (trying to open up his stitches--which of course he still had for pictures).

The bigs joined him.

Leisey Breezy is growing fast! She's holding her head up really well and has a super strong core. Maybe because she's always being man-handled by the bigs?

Greger's obsession with cars has not waned. He loves keys as well and always keeps track of where car keys are and notices if someone sneaks out without him. He also pockets the keys himself when he can. This particular morning Adam was looking for his car keys and finally left using the spare set. A couple hours later when we dropped Gus and Luci off at Wild Child, Greger emerged from the van holding them up, "silver car keys!"

One Thursday the bigs were all the way up in Half Moon Bay for their class, so I took Greger to a little kiddie farm. He was all about riding the train, but when we got on, he wasn't so sure.

He was never into the goats.

But he loved exploring the woods where we picked up his sibs.

Gus lost another tooth this month! Seems he will be missing his two front teeth in time for Christmas.

A couple months ago Lu came in and announced she had made coffee. She'd been "helping" Daddy make it for a while, but we were still concerned...Adam ran out to the kitchen and...everything was fine. She had made a great pot of coffee. It's a lovely talent for a five year old.

Anneliese is taken aback by the flash. Lu thought this was hilarious.

Gus wanted in on the action, but Liese was getting slightly less surprised with each flash.

"Darth Maul"

"Pink Princess Fox"
They were so pleased with themselves.

Anneliese has become quite smiley this month. So wonderful to see her sweet face light up when you talk to her.

The kids sew gnomes in their Wild Child program.

Three on the slide.

Our friend Eleni was visiting from Australia. One of the places on her California list was In N Out. We also got to go to Chuck E Cheese with her!

Gus and Lu built this "robot body."

Gus's reading has really taken off  now. It's fun seeing this whole new world opening up to him.
