August

Party of six.

Anneliese arrived this month! She came on Monday just before Grammy was planning to leave with the kids, so they were able to come see her right away. Gus and Luci love holding her; Lu is especially excited to have a sister and spends the most time holding Anneliese and asking to hold her.

It's pretty much impossible to get a good shot of everyone these days...

This time around Greger is playing the role of indignant toddler who wants none of your picture taking...

For the first week she did this one eye thing a lot.

My mom took the kids to her house so that we'd have a quiet house to come home to while we adjusted. Gus made this book/card for me.

The flowers are for Anneliese.

He's a pro.

He's being silly because the world has changed. He did really enjoy the extra time he spent at Grammy and Papa's. They are car people like him and have much better vehicles (in addition to a pool, which he also loves). He started calling it his house, and he decided that Grammy's convertible Mercedes is HIS car.

I was very familiar with the shape and size of that little foot. It was usually embedded in my abdominal wall.

First bath was okay at first.

And then not.

We're doing a homeschool charter school this year, which means we're officially enrolled in a "public school" and we meet with a teacher once a month to review the kids' progress. I put together binders for each of them (Gus is first grade and Lu is Kindergarten) to keep their work samples together. Gus illustrated the cover of his. The ES gave Luci an assessment this month to determine her starting point. In the middle of the assessment, Lu looked up and announced "I'm killin' this." (She was.)

This is how Greger does spaghetti.

I love how much she loves having a sister.

Meeting Uncle Jed.

It was my dad's birthday later in the month. Adam photobombing creeper style.

Luci supervises Auntie Annah.

Gregsy asks to hold her like the big kids do, but he usually says "take her back" two second s later. "Liesa heavy."

Cousins! Anneliese one week and Vivian  ~4 months.

Precious squidge.

Hungry and taking matters into his own hands.

My fab four.

Love those little chicken legs and crossing eyes (she's grown out of them).
Love.
