Gus Turns 5!

Five years ago today our tiny fighter burst into the world (on the other side of the world). He gave Adam and I a new perspective on life, and he has been blessing our lives ever since. Opinionated and articulate from an early age, he's been composing songs since he was about two (mostly about people he loves and things he enjoys--one of my favorites is about a world where you have to eat sugar all the time and protein only sometimes). He is a thoughtful son, a doting big brother, and a creative, intuitive kid. We love him so.

We've been trying to take regular family hikes on the weekend to get some exercise, explore the Bay Area, and expose the kids to nature.

She is adventurous, quietly curious, fiercely independent, a chatty and outgoing introvert, and a force to be reckoned with. She is plenty of sugar and a whole lot of spice. She is our precious Lucia and today she is three.
