Tahoe

We went to Tahoe for the last weekend of July and stopped at the Railroad Museum in Sacramento on our way up to break up the drive and let the kids have some fun.

Unfortunately my camera was on the wrong setting for most of the museum, so nearly all of the pics there are blurry.

Blurry Gus checking out the dining car.
And standing by the big train wheels.
Lu is in that phase where steps are more exciting than anything else that could possibly be going on.
Again, palmtoforehead re: the camera settings.
Blargh!
Watching the train go 'round.
Lu loved playing with the toy trains.

And daddy's glasses as per usual.

We got on Hwy 80 ready for a mere two hour drive and...it was shut down for an hour and a half. We literally parked on the road. Or we let Gus take this stretch of the drive. Maybe that's what happened.

The kids were total troupers. They took the delay much better than I did.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton (it was a sort-of business trip--we don't normally splash out on the Ritz). It was lovely, aside from the 11pm fire alarm on our first night. Again, the kids were troupers, whereas I had trust issues about going back to sleep after that.

Gus very much enjoyed the high life. For days after we got back he wanted to "back to the hotel."

I love how Lu is pointing in two different directions in this photo.

"Can I get some service, please!"

The gondola down to the Village was a highlight. Gus was just waking up from his nap here, but he has requested the gondola many times since we came home.

Hangin' in the Village.
