Aren't they cute?
This outtake cracks me up.
In March, Auntie Shell and cousin Amber came to visit. We went to the Academy of Science. Gus was NOT thrilled with the butterfly exhibit. Mama doesn't like flying insects either, kid. Misty picture because it was way humid in there...
Lu was pointing at all the fish. I love taking babies to aquariums.
We also drove up to Tahoe to see some snow. My little lumberjack is wearing daddy's hat on the way up.
Snow!
While we were up there, Mama took Gus for his first ice skating lesson.
He turns the hat around on his own. And he calls this blazer his "dinner jacket."
Typical group picture when my kids are involved.
Not sure if it's a phase or what. Gus definitely has the two-year-old mindset going on. He's developed an understanding of the world, and if something contradicts that understanding, WATCH OUT. He does not want this cup, he wants THAT cup. He NEEDS A NAPKIN. He wants to sit THERE.
He's also become much more in tune with emotions and will often try to figure out how I'm feeling on an increasingly sophisticated level. But he's still bonking other kids on the head and taking their toys when he feels like it...
The boy loves to sing and strum his guitar. I love how he'll make up songs and tinker with his guitar for extended periods of time.
Lu will use anything available as a walker. She's also such a fast crawler at this point that I don't think walking is going to be a huge transition. She's spontaneously started pointing and clapping lately, and she LOVES peek-a-boo.
Her brother makes her laugh. And cry. And he teaches her quite a bit. She already makes vehicle noises when she plays with cars.
