After four days in Madrid, I feel like I earned a degree in art history. I have listened to so many audioguides that my head is a jumble of strange information.
The day we arrived, we headed to the modern art museum because I was a Guernica-seeking missile. Aaaand that was pretty much all that I cared about. I feel somewhat bad and ignorant about all th stuff that I don't care about...blah, blah, priceless works, yadda yadda, Dali, okay...but I just don't have the time or brain space to deal with the rest of them, and Picasso I've liked for a while, and I only appreciated his talent more after we went to the Picasso museum in Barcelona.
We also spent an entire day in the Prado museum. An entire day.
And we saw the palace. It was big.
I'm tired.
On our last day, we went out to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen. More art and history. Beautiful scenery. More to come...

The palace.

Some fancy building at the entrance to downtown. I liked the foreboding look it had with the cloudy skies.

We celebrated Adam's birthday on our last full day in Spain.
