Arcos to Tarifa

We stopped in Arcos, one of the white ¨hill towns¨built up on high...hills with beautiful views of the valley floor below, to have dinner at El Convento, a restaurant Adam loved during his first tour of Spain.

It closed.

But we did enjoy our night in El Convento Hotel, and it gave me my first peak at a hill town (we´ll be in Ronda, which is another one, in a couple of days).

We arrived in Tarifa this afternoon, and I was suprised by how much it delighted me. The sand is white, the ocean is a gorgeous blue, and I can see Africa!

We´re basically staying here in order to day trip to Morocco (tomorrow), but it´s a fun windsurfing town, and I actually like it a lot just on its own. I´m glad we came here. There´s not much to do, but at this point I´ve done plenty, and relaxing with sangria and enjoying the view is perfect.

I forgot to mention in this original post that we stopped in Jerez for a sherry tasting on the way to Arcos. Adam was excited to show you the basics of sherry making.

While I adopted my signature tasting pucker.

Adam is more serious about his liquor.

Okay, so then we made it to Arcos.

Do NOT look down...

We were up there.

Arriving in Tarifa...

There's our bus.

The view from our hotel room.

  1. I have loved reading your vacation posts. At this point in motherhood, I feel like I will never go on vacation again. (Yes a tad dramatic and so not true.)

Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you.

  2. h-beast - I don't know you but I wanted to say I have a 20 month old and I'm on vacation right now. You just go to places like Orlando or you bring a friend/relative to help baby sit.

K - exciting about Morocco though I would have a hard time only going there for one day. With this no-vax babe we'll probably not be going to Morocco any time soon. Have fun!

BTW, I love staying in Spanish pensiones. Sorry about the grope!
