When too tired to really write (we were up at 3am California time this morning to catch the plane), post pictures...
After two nights in Calgary (where we did not take ANY pictures--mostly because we were working the whole time), we went on to the Chateau Lake Louise Fairmont...and they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite--it was so awesome! Especially since I'd booked the room at a great price.
I wasted no time making myself comfortable in the living room area...

The separate bedroom.

And the soaking tub...

There were no views to be had in the room (you can't win 'em all, I suppose), so we went down to the lounge that looked out on to the lake (it's frozen over).

Ever the studious student...

It took me like five shots to get this flag when it was waving enough for you to almost make out the maple leaf.

The next morning we headed out to the mountain for some skiing. My patient instructor...

I'm skeered. And friggin' cold.

The ski scene.

Loved the way the Rockies dwarfed even the largest buildings.

I took several shots of the mountains on our way out of the park. It was a little like photographing churches in Rome--each is more beautiful than the next, and after a while you realize that they're all blending together and you should just stop. Below are three of my favorites to give you an idea of how beautiful it was.
