Engaged!!!

Adam, aka the Most Wonderful, Amazing Man Ever (MWAME), asked me to marry him on Saturday—and I, of course, said yes!

So lemme back up…

On Friday night, MWAME took me out for a lovely evening in the City. We had a fun dinner of tapas and sangria at Cha Cha Cha and then went over to the Conservatory of Music for Guitarrada II—a performance of Spanish guitar music.

Note the photo on the left. Adam is holding the program for Guitarrada II in front of me (I am cold and wrapped up in my scarf). If you look closely, you'll see that he is holding a small silk pouch. Yes, my ring is in there. No, I do not know that he is holding it as he takes the picture. It’s like when someone does bunny ears on you, but more original.

So he had mentioned that he wanted to go hiking on Saturday. That night, he tells me that he wants to get out there by sunrise, so we’ll need to leave at 4 am.

Smarty pants that I am, I remind him that we’re on the West Coast, and the sun does not rise over the water here. I ask if we can do a sunset hike instead. But he says no... something about the symbolism…

At 4 am on Saturday, we’re up and at ‘em. We head out to Marin and over to Point Reyes to Chimney Rock.

We hike down this long path in the dark. It’s only as we get near the end that I realize we’re actually on this little peninsula and there’s ocean on both sides of us. We get to the end of the trail and there’s this one bench. It faces out east over the water where the sun is rising.

We sat down for a while, and then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!

*TEEHEE!!!!*
Still working on a date; we’re shooting for sometime between late February and early May. Yes, that would be 2006. Not fans of the long engagement ;-)

And now, the gratuitous bling shots…

  17. It was fun to read the story! :) We're not fans of the long engagement either. This morning on the way to work O.Shane and I came up with some fun last names for you. 'Borkins' was the favorite.
